This Zodiac Wheel is exoterically referred to as the
Wheel of Modalities. Esoterically it is called the Wheel
of the Cherubim - the Cherubim being mystically
defined as Angels having four faces, which "turn in every
direction" and keep the "Way of Life".

This Wheel demonstrates the three groups of Astrological Signs known as the Quadruplicities, each group being composed of four Signs. It is intended to reveal the composition of each Sign as a point of intersection between one of the three Superconscious Mother Letters with one of the Four Worlds.

The Fixed Signs - Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus and Leo - are born of the Mother Letter 'S' and imply states of Desire. Thus we have four Signs constructed on the basis of: the 'Desire for Sensation', the 'Desire for Knowledge', the 'Desire for Material', and the 'Desire for Will-Expression', in that order.

The Cardinal Signs - Libra, Capricorn, Aries, and Cancer - are born of the Mother Letter 'A' and imply states of Reception. So we have four Signs constructed on the basis of: 'Knowledge Reception', 'Material Reception', 'Will Reception', and 'Sensory Reception'.

The Mutable Signs - Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Gemini - are born of the Mother Letter 'M' and imply states of Awareness. They are constructed on the basis of: 'Material Awareness', 'Will Awareness', 'Sensory Awareness', and 'Knowledge Awareness'.
